READING:
I finished Mindy Kaling‘s book. It was witty and I laughed out loud at several of her recollections. I’ve been working my way through the Walking Dead graphic novels. This week I read Vol. 3 Safety Behind Bars. If you watch the TV show, which is amazing, you will like these books, even if you don’t normally read graphic novels or comic books. I’ve found that in these books, the story moves a lot fast than on TV. I suppose that makes sense though because they don’t have to fill an hour long episode in the book. So far, the TV story is following along closely to the graphic novel.
PINNING:
This week I pinned a mish-mash of stuff. One that I was very excited about was a “math hack” for the 6, 7, 8 and 9 tables. I was so excited to find it because Josh is struggling with memorizing them. I’m a very visual, hands on kind of learner, and he is too for the most part, but for some reason, he refuses to even try and learn this cool trick. I taught him another one using your fingers for the 9′s, and same thing. “I can’t remember all of that.” To me, that’s the beauty of it, you learn these tricks and you don’t have to remember the figures, but at the same time, you do learn them. I’m all for counting on your fingers. Whatever works right? And for the most part, that’s the way his teachers feel too, so don’t know why he’s so reluctant. 4th grade’s hard.
WATCHING:
Honestly, still Doctor Who for the most part. I do love watching HGTV too. I recounted my thoughts on the poor makeup jobs of the Property Brothers on Thursday. But we also watched House Hunters and House Hunters International. I usually like the International version better. I love seeing all the different places and their way of living. I can’t imagine just dropping everything and moving to these far away places, though I am tempted every time they are somewhere tropical.
DOING:
I think Gwennie bit off more than she planned while playing with the kitties. This is my assumption, as I wasn’t there to see what actually happened, but she now has a nice scab on her nose that could very well be from a sharp kitty claw. It’s healing well though, and she doesn’t seem to have learned anything from it.
Adrian and I had an impromptu date last night. We went to Target, got Starbucks and just walked around the store together. Nothing big, but it was a nice stolen moment to just get out without the kids and spend a bit of time just the two of us.

Sounds like a good week
